RETRAINING YOUR TASTE BUDS FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS WITH YOUR HEALTH & YOUR PHYSIQUE……PART 2

So how do you correct poor eating habits?

Unfortunately it’s not as easy as some so-called Health & Fitness Experts might have you believe. You can’t just “Do It” or ask yourself “How Bad Do You Want It?”. This sounds great on paper and might motivate you to start eating healthier, however if you don’t have a strategy in place, I can almost guarantee you that whichever diet plan you choose to follow will not be sustainable. And as I always say to my clients, if the diet plan you are following is not sustainable, then it will not be successful in the long term.

With that said, creating a balanced and structured Nutritional Plan is also not nearly as complicated as some Dieticians and Nutritionists might have you believe. For example, I personally have never been a firm believer in Elimination Diets. I feel it’s important to review and analyze an individual’s diet thoroughly before taking certain foods out completely and irrationally.

RETRAINING YOUR TASTE BUDS FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS WITH YOUR HEALTH & YOUR PHYSIQUE…..PART 1

It wasn't until I started helping people out with their diets roughly 15 years ago, when I realized that most people have shitty diets. I mean seriously, there is no way to put this nicely. In my experience from working with the general population, the majority of people have no clue as to what they are doing when it comes to dietary nutrition.

Now who am I to pass judgement or criticize as to how a person chooses to eat? Well, truth be told, unless a client asks me to help them with their diet, I rarely if ever say anything at all. To me, dieting is like politics and religion. It's a very personal and touchy subject for some people. Therefore I refrain from providing my opinions or my views on a particular FAD Diet, Juice Cleanse, or latest Fasting Trend, unless I am asked or I am able to do it passive aggressively through one of my Online Blogs. ;^)

DO YOU LIKE HOW YOU LOOK WHEN YOU’RE NAKED?

Do You Like How You Look When You're Naked?

It's a simple question really. Either you like how you look or you don't like how you look. There is no in between answer.

Or is there?

I mean for myself personally there are days when I wake up in the morning and look in the mirror and feel pretty damn good about my body. But then there are other days when I wake up and have a look at myself and want to throw up (not literally).

I guess the better and more politically correct question would be if whether you feel good about yourself and your body when you are naked?

Unfortunately any way you put it, these are both loaded questions. If you say you don't like how you look and how you feel when you're naked, then you come off as being insecure. If you say that you do like how you look and how you feel when you're naked, then you come off as being conceited. You really can't win here.

Or can you?

RAISING A COCKROACH

It is popularly suggested that cockroaches will inherit the earth if humanity destroys itself in a nuclear war due to their high radiation resistance levels. But I also think this might be because cockroaches have something else engraved in them that makes them relentless and prevents them from giving up.

I've said it time and time again about how fortunate I was to grow up in a family with two parents that worked full time jobs. My parents installed a sickening work ethic in me from an early age and taught me that the only way to become truly successful in life was through hard work.

I had my first paying job at 6 years old delivering newspapers with my brother. By 7, I was walking the neighbours' dogs around our neighbourhood at $5/Dog per hour. By 12, I was selling cans of pop out of a cooler at the beach at $3/Can (premium price for the convenience). And by the time I was 14, I literally could not wait until I could apply for my Social Insurance Number so that I could start a real job and start making some real money!

I also learned the value of a dollar (quite literally actually) as that's exactly what my Dad would pay me to mow the lawn in the summer and shovel the driveway in the winter.

What some people might view as child abuse or child labour today, I view as an extremely important and valuable lesson that could not be taught in any school or learned out of some text book. My parents were preparing me for the real world. The world in which life isn't always fair. The world in which you lose sometimes. The world in which sucks at other times. The world that can push you and hold you down, unless you know how to get up and fight back.
