I DON’T HAVE TIME TO WORKOUT

This past week I just recently had my 100th client sign up to work with me Online. This is the first time in my 10 year career of Online Training, where I’ve had 100 clients working with me all at the exact same time. And even though this year I cut back on the amount of hours I spend training clients on the floor in the gym, I’m still putting in at least an additional 50 hours each week working with my In-House Clients at our Training Facility located in Downtown Vancouver.

So to say that I’m a currently a bit busy juggling both our Online Programs with our In-House Training would definitely be an understatement. However as always, I’m up for the challenge and grateful for the opportunity to work with so many people who trust me with their health and fitness goals.

The main obstacle that I currently find myself facing though, is finding the time to fit in my own workouts each week now that my free time is so limited. After all my years of rolling my eyes when someone would tell me that they have no time to exercise and workout, I now find myself making the exact same excuse not to train. However I love to train. I have to train. And most importantly, I need to train.

The Question Is – When Can I Train?

Making Exercise a Priority

Look, making lots of money is great. However if you die of a heart attack at 55 or can’t enjoy your life due to a health issue or physical limitation that has been brought on through a lifetime of sedentary activity, then what good is that money to use? I’m passionate about helping people reach their target training goals, but to do this effectively with the utmost of focus and my undivided attention, I need to remain positive and energized. Resistance Training has always helped me maintain a positive outlook on life and has provided me with the energy and work ethic that I need to get through my 14-16 hour work days. As a result, I MAKE my workouts a priority in my daily schedule. I don’t compromise my health, just so that I can make more money taking on more hours to work throughout the day. Don’t get me wrong, the 45-60 minutes I get to spend each day training myself in the gym is a luxury, but it’s also a priority. And a priority in which I make sure to always take seriously.

Forming a Habit

Most Human beings are creatures of habit. I personally enjoy having a set routine in which I can follow and rely upon. Unfortunately, my own routine is constantly changing due to the demands of a business that continues to grow and expand. Therefore in my case, I don’t take scheduled days off from training, nor do I have set time of day/night that I train at. My training schedule has to adapt to my work schedule each week. Both schedules are equally important to me, however at the end of the day, my training schedule will always take a back seat to my work schedule when put up against one another. I do after all have a business to run and clients who’s health and fitness goals need to be prioritized before my own.

With that said, I still make sure to find time during my day to fit in my workouts. Whether I train at 4am or 10pm, I make sure that my workout gets done at some point throughout a 24 hour time period. I think the main key to training consistently though is to turn it into a habit in which you can’t ignore. It might not be a habit that you always enjoy or look forward to doing, but the better that you are at creating this habit, the less likely you will become at breaking it.

Don’t Be A Dumb Dieter

I can’t stress this enough – Following a Customized Nutritional Plan that has been catered towards YOUR lifestyle and YOUR Goals, will make ALL the difference to whether or not you succeed at keeping your promise to yourself to remain fit and active this year. You really can’t out train a shitty diet. And I’m not even talking about for health and aesthetic purposed. If you’re following a crappy diet or are inconsistent with your meals and are not drinking enough water throughout the day to remain hydrated, you WILL fail at prioritizing your workouts, turning them into a daily habit, and ultimately – achieving results.

Trust me when I tell you that one of the main reasons as to why most people don’t exercise or stop going to the gym all together, is either because they are always feeling too tired or are frustrated with their lack of results. The funny thing is though, that both of these issues can be addressed by following a healthy and nutritious diet that contains loads of essential vitamins, minerals, nutrients and amino acids.

So What Are You Going To Do?

If you’re not exercising each day because you’re too busy then you are really just telling yourself a lie and you are sacrificing your health and longevity in the long run. By making your workouts a priority, turning them into a habit, and following a diet that provides you with lots of energy, then you most likely won’t find it to difficult to “find the time” to exercise and become more focused on your health and wellbeing.
