We all have regrets in life. Sure, you could argue and say that you have no regrets and only have had experiences and/or lessons that you have learned. But let’s be honest, that’s just a sexy way to say “I Fu#cked Up and I Don’t Want To Admit It”.
Maybe you regret not going back to school when you were younger to change or acquire your degree.
Maybe you regret your current career choice.
Maybe you regret ending a relationship with a previous partner.
Maybe you regret taking that selfie 5 years ago that continues to circulate periodically throughout social media.
Maybe you regret not taking time to work on your relationships.
Maybe you have more regrets than you think…..
I’m no Relationship Guru, Career Councellor or Social Media Superstar. Therefore I can’t be of much assistance if any, to the regrets listed above.
I can however promise you that if you are having any regrets about not taking better care of your health and your fitness, it’s not too late to start now.
COVID-19 Fu#ked Shit Up!
COVID-19 has really screwed up lots of things for lots of people. I know that for myself personally though, that this pandemic has given me time to reflect on what really matters to me and what’s truly important in my own life.
And without a doubt, if I didn’t have my health and if I wasn’t as active as I am, I too would be afraid of contracting the Coronavirus.
And if couldn’t train and if I couldn’t exercise on a regular basis, I don’t know if my mental health would be able to continue to survive living in this constant state of doom and gloom.
It’s Time To Take Action!
If you’re sitting at home feeling frustrated about letting yourself go during the initial lockdown, then it’s time you do something about it.
If you’re staying away from gyms because you’re afraid of contracting COVID-19, then it’s time you do something about it.
If you’re waiting for a vaccine to come save the day, then you are just putting yourself in a helpless situation. In which case then, it’s time you do something about it.
It’s important that you’re proactive and that you do your part by working on improving your own physical and mental health each and every day. No vaccine is going to do this for you.
Respecting Boundaries
I’ve refrained from pushing/selling clients on returning to the gym these past 9 months. Everyone has their own level of comfort of how to cope with what’s going on in the world, and it’s not my place to try and convince them otherwise.
Fortunately for me, I didn’t have to convince anyone to do anything they didn’t want to do, as the majority of our clients either never left the gym during the beginning stages of COVID-19, or have all returned after the initial lockdown ended here in Vancouver, British Columbia.
With COVID cases continuing to rise with each passing day, I understand that there is a possibility that I myself could eventually test positive for COVID-19. And even though I’ve been told that I don’t have much to be overly concerned about if I do contract the virus considering that I’m young and healthy, I still want to give my body the best possible chance at fighting this thing off.
And the only way that I’m going to be able to do this is if I continue to take care of my health by eating correctly and exercising regularly.
So yes wear your mask. And please continue to socially distance and practice good hygiene regularly. But don’t forget to take the time, effort and even the finances needed to work on both your body and your mind as well. Because in my opinion without either, this pandemic will eventually break you.
Remember, your health is an investment, not an expense.
Yours in Good Health,
