Sex is healthy.
Sex is pleasurable.
Sex is enjoyable.
Sex is stimulating.
Sex is liberating
Sex is invigorating.
Sex is physically demanding.
Sex requires strength.
Sex demands stamina.
Sex elevates mood, improves self-esteem and enhances quality of life.
Yet, despite all the benefits of having regular sex, according to numerous recent studies, less and less people are having it these days.
And I want to know why.......
I recently had a new client reach out to me because she was interested in registering for our Small Group Training Classes. This particular individual had informed me that she was reluctant to join our Group Classes at first due to our higher than average industry rates. With that said, after some less than stellar experiences in some group fitness classes offered throughout the city, along with some added pressure from one of her close friends (who also happens to be a long term client of ours), this new client was finally persuaded to give our classes a try. To say that the feedback I received from our new client after her first two classes (a lower body workout and an upper body workout) shocked me, would be an understatement. In fact, her feedback made me more aware than ever before that there is a SERIOUS PROBLEM in the Fitness Industry when it comes to Group Class Training.
Read onCan we slow down the aging process?
In my opinion, we most definitely can!
In fact, I'm a firm believer that by weight training regularly and following a clean diet religiously, we can not only slow down how we age, but we can also improve our health, better our appearance, and prolong our life span, not to mention improve the quality of our lives in our later years.
And now, thanks to modern technology, many of us our able to maintain a somewhat youthful looking appearance with the help of cosmetic surgeries such as face lifts, liposuction, rhinoplasty, vein ligation, etc. And for those whose budget doesn't fit these types of surgeries, the usage of neuromuscular blockers such as botox, fillers and lip injections can make a world of difference. Regardless of your personal stance and opinion on these types of procedures, you cannot deny that for the most part, they do work.
But when is enough, enough? I mean how many times do you really need to go to the gym each week in order to build and maintain muscle? And how much cardio do you really need to do in order to remain reltively lean? And how little calories must you consume in order to keep your waist tight and trim? And lastly, how much sculpting, sucking, tucking, shifting and lifting needs to be done, in order to maintain that so-called "youthful appearance"?
Let's find out!
As much as I love the warm weather, extended daylight, and outdoor activities that come along with the Summer Season, there are a few traits that I could honestly do without.
Perhaps it's just me but has anyone else noticed that things just seem to move A LOT more slowly during the Summer?
For example, as I write this week's blog I'm currently awaiting response on 3 LOIs (Letter Of Intent) that I submitted 3 weeks ago, a quote from a contractor on a condo renovation that was "promised" to be delivered back to me 2 weeks ago, and an order of toiletries and cleaning supplies for the gym that was supposed to be dropped off earlier last week. And yet each time I contact either the Listing Agents, Contractors, and/or Delivery Company, I always receive the same response (that is when I receive a response) - "Oh it's Summer. People are away."
Wait. What? I'm sorry but what the fuck do you mean "Oh it's Summer." and "People are away"? I am well aware that it's Summer. I am also well aware that people go away on vacation. As a Business Owner though I am also aware that poor customer service can lead to a SIGNIFICANT loss in company revenue. And as a Business Owner, if you yourself are not overly concerned about profit margins and company growth, than at least you should be concerned about your reputation and level of service that you provide to your clients & customers.
So what if it's Summer? Does the heat and sun give you an excuse to provide sloppy service? And who cares if people go away? As an owner or manager, it's your job to ensure that those positions are covered for when your employees are sick, or go on an extended leave of absence. And if you can't get them covered, than you yourself cover them yourself!
Unfortunately due to the lack of service in which I have been receiving these past few weeks from certain companies, I now find myself becoming less and less able to get shit done - both personally and professionally.
