Are you happy with your life?
Are you happy with your relationships?
Are you happy with your career?
Are you happy with your health?
Are you happy with your aesthetics?
Are you happy?
Now if you answered yes to all of the questions above you are either an incredibly lucky and optimistic person, or you're a sociopathic liar who fabricates your lifestyle. Either way, I'm not judging you. Or perhaps I am. I mean we all judge each other a little bit don't we?
A couple of weeks ago, I posted a video on my Instagram Stories showcasing a line-up that stretched nearly 3 blocks long of people waiting to place their orders at the new and incredibly popular fast food joint - Jollibee. Now for those of you who don't know, Jollibee is a Filipino multinational chain of fast food restaurants owned by Jollibee Foods Corporation. As of today, JFC has roughly 1500 Jolibee outlets worldwide. And here in Vancouver, British Columbia, the renowned Filipino fast-food chain opened its first outlet on Friday, February 25th on Granville Street Downtown.
After 4 weeks, Jollibee has now settled into its' new home in the Downtown Core. The restaurant that is famous for its' fried chicken, greasy burgers, and fatty wieners in spaghetti, continues to remain a hot spot in the city. People continue to come from all over our Province for a taste of the finger licking/heart attack in a box Filipino dishes. The food is cheap. The service is fast. And as long as you're wearing your mask in that line-up, you're safe from COVID......(Enter Motherfucking Eye Roll Here)
Wearing a mask in a FAST FOOD line-up that serves greasy, fried and fattening food because you're concerned about contracting COVID? Is it just me or is this not complete idiocracy at its' very best?
Fingers crossed we are slowly starting to find our way out of COVID-19. Mask Mandates are being lifted, Restrictions are ending, and Businesses are starting to re-open their doors once again at full capacity. Now despite the fact that there is a potential World War on the horizon, there is a possibility that we all might get a chance to enjoy a sense of normalcy for at least a few short weeks.
Regardless of the current state of the world, I believe it's time to get back to our regular lives and daily activities. For many people who spent the better part of the past two years quarantined in their homes, this is a chance to go back outside and see friends and family once again. Make no mistake, this Global Pandemic has had some serious negative impacts on both our mental health and physical wellbeing. Human beings are typically social creatures. We enjoy the company of others and seek the camaraderie formed through experiences.
COVID-19 fucked that all up for us.
Has the Pandemic drained you physically?
Has the beginning of inflation and rising gas prices drained you financially?
Has the stress of a potential world war looming drained you mentally?
I would be lying if I said that the current state of the world did not concern me. I mean here we are slowly starting to come out of a Global Pandemic, into a potential recession, that could lead to a very dangerous and costly world war. I've always tried my best to remain optimistic during times like these, however even I can't help but sometimes wonder at what point will I eventually break.
