As most of my clients know, I rarely watch TV. In fact, up until the other night, I don't even remember the last time I sat down and watched a full movie. First of all, I don't have the time to sit down for more then an hour, never mind two hours, and secondly, I don't have the attention span to watch anything on the television that lasts longer then 30-40 minutes max.
However never have I received so many requests by clients for my thoughts and opinions on a particular subject until the movie "The Game Changers" was released on Netflix a few weeks ago. I actually didn't realize that so many people were interested in learning about Plant Based Diets, until just recently. As a Coach/Trainer who designs Customized Nutritional Plans, this excites me, as it shows that more and more people are taking an interest in their Diets - And not just for aesthetics and performance, but also for overall health and longevity.
However are Plant Based Diets really the "BEST DIETS" out there to follow?
Is eating meat as bad for you as The Game Changers would have you believe?
Or is this entire Plant Based Diet thing just another diet fad that will fizzle out within the next few years?
Alright, enough is enough! And I've had ENOUGH!!!! I'm irritated, frustrated, nauseated and for some odd reason, even a little constipated......
Cellphones in the gym have been a thorn in my side since mid 2007, when the first Iphone was introduced. Before the Iphone, we had Blackberrys and Flip Phones. And although these mobile devices would occasionally make an appearance or two in the gym, it was usually done discreetly and off the floor to answer quickly to a work email or respond to an important text message from a friend or family member. Unfortunately nowadays with the advancements in technology, the explosion of social media, and the growing narcissistic need for self validation and approval from our peers, this once valuable communication tool which was suppose to be useful and helpful, has now become a nuisance, a distraction and utterly annoying. From taking selfies in the squat rack, to cruising through Instagram while "resting" in between sets, it seems as if most people have forgot the reason as to why they are at the gym in the first place.......
WHICH IS TO TRAIN!!!!
ver the years I've spoken, blogged, posted and preached about the importance of living an active and fit lifestyle to you all on a daily basis. Therefore whether you're a client of ours and/or an avid reader of my weekly blogs, then you already know that regular exercise can reduce the risks of chronic health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis. However what you may not know is that besides from preventing possible health issues, regular exercise can also improve certain other areas of your life as well. For example, many of our clients who train with us on a regular basis, find that their productivity levels at work are much higher after a workout. They think more clearly, they have more energy and therefore their overall job performance increases significantly.
As someone who works in the the health and fitness industry, I feel that it's my job to share the knowledge that I've gained over the years with regards to the numerous benefits that regular exercise can offer to us. And today I want to talk about the benefits that exercise can have on our sex lives. And believe me, these benefits are worth the read!
What does Intermittent Fasting, If It Fits Your Macros, South Beach, Keto, and Paleo all have in common?
Well besides from all being Fad Diets, they're all Fad Diets that actually work!
