With the New Year quickly approaching I find my inbox filling up with daily inquires pertaining to our Personal and Online Training Services that we provide to potential clients. As a fitness professional this inspires me, as more and more people are beginning to take an interest in their general health and well being. As a business owner, this gives me a bit of anxiety though, as it means we're going to be even more busy then we already are come the New Year. Regardless, we're extremely grateful and appreciative to be in a situation where so many people trust us with their training goals and want us to assist them with becoming more healthy, active and fit.
Read onIn my own personal opinion, there is no such thing as a healthy addiction. Sure, we all know that certain addictions are worse then others. A serious drug addiction for example, can lead to destructive lifestyle behaviours and may even result in the possibility of a serious injury or death. Most people who have addictive personalities will make poor choices when they're under the influence of their addiction. An alcoholic might make the decision to drive, even after "just a few drinks". A food addict might use comfort eating and over-eating as tools to help cope with emotional distresses caused by feelings such as depression, sadness and stress. A workaholic might use his or her career as a divergence to escape the reality of their own personal lives that might be in a state of turmoil and unrest. But when do we really know when our addiction actually becomes an addiction?
Read onUnless you have been living under a rock or in a secluded cave for the past decade, you've most likely heard that regular exercise can help reduce the risk of chronic health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis, just to name a few. Working Out consistently can also have a positive effect on our mental health as well, as exercise has been shown to not only increase blood flow to the brain, but it also helps by releasing endorphins, which are the body's own natural antidepressant. This in turn can assist people who are coping with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and chronic fatigue.
But did you know that more and more studies are beginning to show that regular exercise may have another, more surprising effect on our overall health and wellbeing?
And that effect has to do with role that exercise plays when it comes to our sex lives!
To develop the perfect physique you need to develop the perfect program.
Right?
Wrong!
First of all, what exactly is considered to be the perfect physique? To me, the answer to this question is subjective as most of us will have our own idea as to what the perfect physique looks like. Most men for example, would love to have chiseled pecs and ripped abs year round. And I'm almost positive that most women wouldn't complain if they had a flat midsection and a killer looking ass 24/7. But these images are based purely on aesthetics and nothing else. And in my opinion, there is so much more that goes into developing the perfect physique then just a nice looking butt and bulging biceps. For myself personally, I believe the perfect physique, is one that is not just lean and muscular, but is also healthy and functional. My ideal perfect physique is one that rarely gets run down, burnt out and/or sick. The perfect physique remains young, fit and attractive forever. And after all my years of extensive research, hardcore dieting and gruelling training, I've come to the conclusion that the perfect physique does not exist.
